Procession

A procession of generic flags, pennants, banners and streamers, moving across a bridge over a period of three weeks.

It is an exploration of the way people process what they see, what they notice and what they miss altogether.

Those who see the work as it is meant to be seen – repeatedly, over time – may never recognize it as art. That’s fine.

Many will not see the flags right away. Many may only notice them once it becomes apparent they’re moving. Some may never spot the flags at all. That’s also fine.

Those who know in advance that this is a work of art will never be able to see it as it is meant to be seen. But maybe that’s OK too.
